Relevant Experience

 

Currently, Mr. Paul Wong Chee Kin is Director (Authorised Signatory), and President and Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Thai Bank PCL. He also assumes the position as Director (Authorised Signatory) of Association of International Banks.

 

With more than 30 years of experience in ASEAN’s banking and finance arena, Mr. Paul joined CIMB Group in 2007 as Senior Vice President, Head of Sales Management - Consumer Sales & Distribution of CIMB Bank Berhad; and later assumed the positions of Head of Strategy, ASEAN Business Solutions & Projects; Head of Regional Projects; and Regional Head of Consumer Strategic Business Support until 2018. In addition, he was Group Chief Operations Officer of CIMB Bank Berhad during 1 October 2018 - January 2021, before his appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Thai Bank.

 

Before joining CIMB Group, he served as Assistant Manager, Credit & Marketing Officer and Branch Manager for Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) in Singapore; Head of Sales Development and Coaching, and Head of Mobile Sales for OCBC in Malaysia; Senior Manager, Partnership Distribution, Bancassurance for Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad; and Vice President / Regional Sales Manager for Alliance Bank Berhad.
