Mr. Paul Wong Chee Kin, President and Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Thai Bank, along with the Bank’s executives and employees, participated in the "Love Me, Love My Sea" activity on World Oceans Day 2024. The event focused on coral reef restoration to rehabilitate the marine ecosystem amid global concerns over coral bleaching issues caused by rising sea temperatures. They also joined in cleaning the turtle nursery pond at the Sea Turtle Conservation Center in Sattahip, Chonburi Province. The Bank donated funds to support the operations of the Center, enhancing its capability to care for sea turtles and promote public knowledge about conservation efforts.

Furthermore, the Bank has continued to emphasize its commitment to Carbon Neutrality by limiting the number of vehicles traveling to the activity, inviting employees to bring refillable water bottles, and providing them with drinking water stored in 100% recyclable aluminum cans during the event.

The Bank continuously prioritizes environmental protection as part of its sustainability mission, which is a strategic theme of its business. It has also embedded sustainability into its DNA, ensuring each department integrates sustainability into the Bank’s strategy. This is to create a net positive concretely, covering business, society, and the environment dimensions. Also, it participates in various campaigns to raise awareness through regional activity, such as the annual “Cooler Earth Summit” scheduled to take place in August 2024.
