“Let Children Color Their Dreams” Project
Driven by our strong faith in the innocent dreams of children, a project, “Let children color their dreams” was launched. With major collaboration between CIMB THAI, Pathumwan District Office and World Vision Foundation of Thailand, we held a seminar on drawing and coloring techniques together with various leisure activities for young students from 8 primary schools in Pathumwan district, Bangkok and Bon Kai Youth Center. The young participants had potential but lacked opportunities and finance necessary to attend proper art lessons. The project aimed to develop their physical, intellectual, emotional and interpersonal capabilities as well as to improve their self-confidence. The project also allowed art teachers from all the 8 schools to attend the seminar to improve their own teaching styles.
Furthermore, on December 11, 2012, CIMB THAI also staged a drawing contest in the topic “Our Majesty the King” for the young participants to display the skills gained from the seminar for the chance of winning educational scholarships worth 168,000 baht in total, together with a certificate. The children would express their loyalty and imagination, coupled with their own experience, through drawings of the King in different poses, demonstrating His genius. The winning drawing would be printed on the bank’s 2013 annual calendar as well. Prof. Decha Warachun, the national artist, was honored to be the head of the judging committee.
