On 15 November 2024, at Suan Son Pradipat Hotel in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Mr. Somkid Jantamrek, Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, presided over the press conference for CIMB THAI TRIATHLON 2024, including Chief Inspector of Hua Hin Police Station, the President of the Hua Hin-Cha-Am Tourism Business Association, Ms. Natthanee Kasemrathkul, Head of Corporate Communications, CIMB Thai Bank Plc., and Mr. Chinthip Bunjochhiranmetha from Summit Nish Co., Ltd., the organizer of CIMB THAI TRIATHLON 2024: Moving Forward With You, which will take place on 1 December 2024, at Suan Son Pradipat Beach, Hua Hin from 5.00 a.m. onwards.
Mr. Somkid Jantamrek, Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, expressed his great pleasure that this year, CIMB Thai Bank has chosen Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, as the venue for CIMB THAI TRIATHLON. Recognized as one of the province’s premier sporting event of 2024, it attracts triathletes nationwide and from other countries to test their capabilities and competitiveness. Triathlon has become an increasingly popular sport-tourism activity, generating significant economic benefits through tourism and enhancing the local economy.

Ms. Natthanee Kasemrathkul, Head of Corporate Communications, CIMB Thai Bank, revealed that this year marks the 5th CIMB Thai Triathlon. The Bank has collaborated with Summit Nish Co., Ltd., a renowned expert in sports event management, to introduce an entirely new and unprecedented competition route.
Another groundbreaking feature of this event is its “Caring” in every aspect of the organization under “Eco-Friendly Event” concept, emphasizing good health and sustainability. Adhered to the 3R principles—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—the event unites government, private sector, and local communities in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province to promote health and environmental stewardship. The eco-friendly initiatives include carpooling service to “Travel Together" to minimize pollution in the activity area, eco-conscious souvenirs, such as high-quality, breathable shirts made from recycled plastic fibers, reusable tote bags made from recycled fabric, and medals and trophies recreated from recycled aluminum, comprehensive waste management during the event and tracking participants’ travel data to calculate and offset the carbon credits required for the event by the Bank.
"CIMB THAI TRIATHLON has consistently received sound feedback each year from participants, including athletes from Thailand, ASEAN countries, and others, representing over 20 nations. This year, more than 600 participants, ranging from seasoned triathletes to newcomers, have registered. We aim to provide all athletes with a fresh experience on an entirely new course, organized by the highly experienced team at Summit Nish Co., Ltd. Their strong local network and expertise align perfectly with our focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility for exceptional quality of life. Mr. Chinthip Bunjochhiranmeth, representing Summit Nish Co., Ltd., the organizer of the CIMB THAI TRIATHLON 2024: Moving Forward With You, expressed his pleasure for creating a fresh and memorable experience for participants. The new course offers both challenges and scenic beauty at Suan Son Pradipat Beach, Cha-Am District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Athletes will immerse themselves in the natural surroundings from swimming, cycling and running. The race begins with a swim in the pristine waters of Suan Son Beach, surrounded by fresh air and white sands. Participants will then transition to cycling along the scenic Phetkasem Road before concluding with a run through tranquil and shaded pine forests. The organizing team has coordinated with local government and private entities to ensure the smooth execution of the event while maintaining the highest safety standard throughout the course. In addition, exclusive discounts on accommodations and dining are offered to participants and their families to encourage local tourism and stimulate the community economy. This triathlon reflects the collaborative effort of all parties involved, including CIMB Thai Bank, Summit Nish Co., Ltd., provincial units, local residents, and students. Together, we aim to make this event the most unforgettable experience for all participants.
CIMB THAI TRIATHLON 2024, scheduled for 1 December 2024, at Suan Son Pradipat Beach, Hua Hin, offers an exciting lineup of five competition categories.
- Individual Standard Triathlon: Swim 1.5 km, Bike 40 km, Run 10 km.
- Individual Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750 m, Bike 21 km, Run 5 km.
- Individual Duathlon: Run 5 km, Bike 40 km, Run 10 km.
- Team Relay Standard Triathlon: Swim 1.5 km, Bike 40 km, Run 10 km.
- Media Run: 5 km.
In addition, from 30 November to 1 December 2024, the event will also feature a variety of attractions including exhibition of local OTOP products, sporting goods shop, sports exhibition, and recreational activities.
