CIMB Thai and ASEAN-BAC Malaysia engage in substantive dialogue on ASEAN Trade and Economic Perspectives

         CIMB Thai Bank Plc. (CIMB Thai) and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Malaysia (ASEAN-BAC Malaysia) hosted the event, “CIMB Thai and ASEAN-BAC Malaysia: Economic Update and Networking Dinner” which was attended by 20 participants. Dr. Amonthep Chawla, EVP, Head of Research Office, CIMB Thai Bank, presented an overview of Thailand’s economy, highlighting opportunities, risks, and an economic outlook for year 2024, along with various challenges to Tan Sri Nazir Razak, Chairman of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia and team, as well as representatives from the ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC). Participants from ASEAN-BAC Malaysia, ABMC, and executives from CIMB Thai Bank, include Mr. Tan Keat Jin, SEVP, Head of Consumer Banking, Mr. Pao Chatakanonta, SEVP, Head of Treasury & Markets, Mr. Wut Thanittiraporn, SEVP, Head of Corporate Banking and Transaction Banking, Ms. Panida Tangsriwong, SEVP, Head of Financial Institution Thailand and CLMV and Mr. Konthee Prasertwongse, SEVP, Head of Investment Banking from CIMB Thai Bank also shared information and perspectives regarding ASEAN trade and economic issues, particularly the economic relationship between Thailand and Malaysia in the areas of investment, import-export activities, initiatives to drive the ASEAN economy, and strategies to foster cooperation between the two countries.
