Mr. Muhammad Novan Bin Amirudin

Relevant Experience

• Mr.  Muhammad Novan Bin Amirudin currently holds the position of Non-Executive Director of CIMB Thai Bank PCL. 

• He is also the Group Chief Executive Officer / Executive Director of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad; Executive Director / Non-Independent Director of CIMB Bank Berhad; Non-Independent Director of CIMB Securities Sendirian Berhad; and Executive Director / Non-Independent Director of CIMB Investment Bank Berhad. 

• Previously the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Group Wholesale Banking (GWB) as well as the Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Investment Bank Berhad, Mr. Novan was responsible for Group Corporate Banking, Group Investment Banking, Group Private Banking, Corporate and Public Sector Coverage. Since joining CIMB in 2022, Mr. Novan has revamped GWB with a new operating model and led CIMB Investment Bank back to the #1 position in Malaysia, while driving the Group’s re-entry to the public equities business through CIMB Securities.

• A Chartered Accountant by training, Novan brings over two decades of experience spanning banking, capital markets, corporate finance and advisory across Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. Prior to joining CIMB, Mr. Novan spent close to 16 years with J.P. Morgan, with his last position being Head of Equity Capital Markets, Southeast Asia and Head of Investment Banking, Malaysia. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Novan was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), specialising in Corporate Finance advisory.
